Braided Piggies for Hats and Bobbi-Toads

Hats are awesome and can be so so cute! But they aren't allowed in school. This style transitions perfectly. It works for cold weather hats and fun sun-blocking caps...

This time we did a zig zag part to spice things up. Click below to see step-by-step....

Star Braids into Piggies - Happy 4th of July!

This is a style that floats around the blogging world every year around this time and Little Miss finally convinced me to do it! :) It is actually very simple, even though it might look complicated. It takes a little extra time, but not much!

Criss Cross Braids into Messy Bun

I really love braids. (If you haven't figured that out, click on any of the many braid links off to the side. Ha!)
This is a fairly basic concept, but can be tricky just to keep hold of. I parted the hair into four sections. I started with a diagonal part from the front left to the back right. Then I divided those in half. Pull all but one front section up out of the way. I prefer clips as they are easier to take out when ready. Start with a french braid in that front section and keep it lined up with the opposite side in the back.

Step Ponies Into Messy Bun

This is a pretty simple style that we have done before. School year means just about all of the styles we do are simple and quick. ;)

Dutch Braids and Bun

If you can do french braids, then this is an easy do. The best thing about this one is that it works for just about any length of hair. If you find that your daughter's hair is difficult to get into the braids, try more braids, so that you are holding less hair. This is a good tip for shorter hair. ;)

Back to School

I just wanted to share our back to school photos. I threw in some of my boys too, just for fun! ;)

Twist Braid Pigtails

Just a simple and fun do today! Miss Sass wanted pigtails, a common request these days. ;)

A Super Twisty Bun

Really wishing again that I had some way to do videos. ;) My oldest is getting better, but it's so shaky it might make someone sick. Lol. Anyway, this do turned out rather pretty and I think I'll do it again soon!

Three Braids and A Bow

We were heading out to take some pics of our new dresses, so we needed a somewhat quick but cute do. ;) This one is actually very easy and pretty quick if you know how to french braid.

Twist into Messy Bun

This is kind of a fallback style for us. First, part the hair into the sections you will want.
This is the easiest way to secure the twists. Take your section and part out just a tiny piece at the end you'll be securing.
Twist the remaining part of the section and secure it with that little piece with an elastic.

You could also secure the twists with a single bobby pin pushed up through the twist and into the base of the hair. That will work best with hair of Little Miss's thickness or thicker. Okay, so this is the finished style. I didn't get many pics, but I'm sure I'll be doing it again. ;)

Gymnast Piggie Braids

"I was wondering if you could do some hairstyles for gymnastics? My 6 year old just started and I would like to keep her hair out of her face, so I would like a hairstyle that would last through gymnastics. She has long hair (just past her shoulders, even with her shoulder blades) that is not really thin, but not really thick either, its just kind of in the middle lol. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thank you in advance." ~Kristine

I received this question in an email a while and wanted to feature it on my blog. Kristine was nice enough to allow me to post it here. ;) Miss Sass has a weekly gymnastics class, so we use hairstyles frequently that work well for it! This is one of my favorites because it stays in so well and looks adorable.

Cornrow Piggies

The idea here is simple, but the time it takes is not so simple! ;) Make sure you and your little princess are comfy and have plenty of little activities to do.

We Love Birthdays!

My little niece had her birthday party over the weekend. Little Miss was super excited because they are now both 4! ;) This was just as we were walking into the house with our gift... a few Pinkalicious books and a cute shirt and scarf by Beautees. Yes, Little Miss helped pick it out. ;)
Anyway, we had a few styles for the day. I got to do three styles... One for The Diva, Little Miss Sass, and The Princess...

3 Pigtails into Bun

This is just another quick do we did for dance class. It's also one of the do's I photographed with my back-up camera, so it's a little fuzzy...

Pony-Braid Piggies

Before we get to today's do I wanted to say a quick thank you to all who responded to the free bow offer. I am processing emails and comments and I will get with each of you as quickly as possible! I look forward to working with you!

Today's style is a continuation of yesterday's. This was done on her actual birthday. I just have the pictures I snapped while she was opening her present from Mommy & Daddy. ;)
We left in the top/front from yesterday's do and took the pony and 3 small ponies out of the back.

Simple Ponies Into A Pony

To start, part out the bottom of the back and get the rest out of the way.

One style, Two days

I have been suffering from mommy brain something fierce lately!!! Really, it is so bad that I finished this entire post and almost put it up before I realized I had already posted one of the hairstyles! Well, the post is better with both in it, so if you've seen the one already, just scroll down. ;)

I have two hairstyles today that are almost the same thing. ;) We have been pretty busy lately getting ready for school, so I haven't done as many hair do's. Apparently, I didn't get any good shots of the finished looks. Sheesh!
Right, so the hair is what we're here for!... This first one is pretty simple. I parted the hair into two sections on top. In the front section, I did a french knot braid. This is achieved by starting with two pieces and tying them in a knot, as you would when you tie your shoes before making the bow. ;) You add hair to each piece and tie them again. Just keep going to the end and secure with an elastic. It's crazy-easy and looks really neat, imo.

More Lauren MIBI Hair... for Short Hair

I saw this style a few days ago and have really wanted to try it out!
This time I decided to post a picture of Lauren's actual style.
