I realize by posting this I am admitting my inner nerd to the world, but I can't help it.

Crazy Hair Day

Today was crazy hair day at school. The kids all wanted fun colors, so it was a pretty easy day. ;) Little Miss wanted this simple style. We have another crazy hair day later in the year and I hope she lets me get a bit wilder. Lol

Rock Star Birthday and A Fauxhawk

My niece had her Rock Star Birthday Party last week, so I took the opportunity to do a faux hawk in Miss Sass's hair. (I love faux hawks!)

Spiky Boy Style

If you read my post two days ago, then you know what's up with the messy shirt... Anyone with mad Photo shop skills want to help me out? Lol!
Okay, really, this is another style Drama Boy does with his new cut. This is probably my favorite. He has been doing something similar for a long time and I just think it suits him. You might think it is just a crazy mess, but he is very specific about his hair! ;) That being said, it is pretty easy to achieve. He used his Got to Be Glued hairspray all over barely damp hair. He uses a comb to make all the hair on top stand straight up, then he scrunches it with his fists in little sections. Last step is make sure it isn't "too spiky" and then give the very front a good shape. And, he's a happy boy!
I'd love to hear opinions and see some of your boy styles! Email me your photos at merynne@gmail.com and I'd love to share them with the other readers. ~

BOYS New cut!

This is Drama Boy's new cut for school. It has a lot of options... faux hawk, spike, the "new Bieber", and then this: I call it the crazy, messy, thing. Lol
If you want lots of flexibility with your son's 'do, the trick is in the cut. Drama Boy has VERY thick hair. Because of this, his stylist gave him lots of depth by cutting deeper angles than are typical for the messy look. This is the thing... His hair is NOT even and that is intentional! ;) This does mean he pretty much has to fix his hair, but this is a kid who insists on it everyday anyway! Seriously, his hair paste is more expensive than my hairspray! But really, I love the cut and all things he can do with it. We'll post some more pics as he tries out different looks. Thanks for stopping by and please share some of your boy looks!

Cut 'n Style

Mr. Cool and Miss Sass got new haircuts. Finally! ;) Mr. Cool was up first.... and his new look is just like he is, cool! Tara gave him a short 'do with lots of depth. She thinned it out a ton so that he can work with it a little more. He is able to spike it all on his own. And it's just too cute! ;) As is his style, Mr. Cool would only let me take a few pics and this is the only one that really came out... gotta love him!

(And can I say, he was so very tired that day. And looking at his poor little eyes, I feel bad for not forcing a nap or something! heh)
Next was Miss Sass. She is so little that even with a huge pillow on the chair, Tara couldn't get to her hair very well. So instead she stood on the floor and Tara just bent down to snip. After a couple minutes, Alex leaned back against her; it was so adorable!
And here we are in true girl fashion, chatting away with her stylist. ;)
Tara evened up the back and added a few simple layers. She also did some sculpting around Sassy's face. After the cut, she gave her some soft curls and a quick little bobby pin at the top. It was so so cute.
I am in love with the kids new looks and they are both very happy! We love you Tara! ;)

I want to add a little extra note here. Tara has her own place, Tara Nichole Salon! It is lovely and clean and she is so professional! She was great with the kids! Her prices are very competitive and she really knows her stuff. Tara has so much to offer. And in my opinion the best part was her kind, genuine, caring nature! We give Tara Nichole Salon 5 Stars!!! If you want to check her out, take a look at her facebook page. ;)

Hello? Anyone there?!

It's been months! ;) As I was reading a blog yesterday, I realized how terribly I miss this world!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season... Christmas, New Year, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day... Geez, it's almost Easter! ;) I haven't read or posted in so long, I'm not sure I remember what to do. Lol! But I will try! I have done a ton of new hairstyles since last fall, but I think I'll just start with now. ;) For my first post back, I'll just post a few pics of my favorite little models... my kids. ;)
First is my Mr. Cool;) He didn't really want to do pictures, but at least I got one sweet smile from him! Oh, and that smile is getting ready to change big time... he's losing a front tooth, so cute!
And here's my sweet Drama Boy. The charmer and adorable blue-eyed blonde of the family! He's starting to get these beyond cute freckles on his nose and cheeks! ;)
And last, that firecracker you know as Sis. ;) Still cute and red as ever, she has been doing some modeling and online pageants and tons of playing! ;) Currently, she is in a cute kid contest and would love to have your vote! It is just a one-time vote by this Friday, so really not much work. ;) Thank you for supporting her!

The Fauxhawk, pre-tweens, and David Boreanaz.

Okay, so this is inspired the look David Boreanaz wore when he played Angel on Buffy (anybody remember that?)... My little man likes it when I fix his hair a new way. Dad has always shaved the boys hair to about a 1/4 inch. I talked him into giving me at least one year of longer hair:) Although, they are in need of trims!
In any case, this is a cute 'do. I made a messy fauxhawk this time since he has so much hair on the sides right now. It is super easy and can be adjusted and altered into several looks. I basically just goop up his hair with strong gel, comb everything up and to the middle from the sides. Because my guy has curly hair, I then brushed the comb very lightly across the crest of hair to send the curls up a little. And aren't these kids just too adorable... flirting already!
And there you have it! My little charmer... Such a cutie:)

A Moderate Mess... For Boys:)

This is a cute, easy style for boys. My little guy is growing his hair out a little and it is crazy in this in between phase:) I wish I had a before pic... he has super soft, super straight hair that sticks straight out from his head! He looks like a fuzzy baby hedgehog:)
