We were celebrating A's birthday and she wanted something pretty. This one is easy to do, but looks very sweet and lovely!

French Braids and Curls ~ First Day of School

I don't think I've shared before what I do when I'm not being Mom or hairdresser... I work at a middle school as the Athletic Secretary and the Secretary to the Assistant Principal. If you have student who plays sports in school, you know how crazy things can get! The last two weeks have been non-stop!
All this to say.... I'm a little behind. Ha! These are from earlier this week, but this is from her first day of school for this new year~

Braided Piggies for Hats and Bobbi-Toads

Hats are awesome and can be so so cute! But they aren't allowed in school. This style transitions perfectly. It works for cold weather hats and fun sun-blocking caps...

Ginny Weasley - Spirit Day

This is a style that I never shared last spring. We are huge Harry Potter fans around here, so when the kids were told to dress as their favorite book character for spirit week Miss Sass knew exactly who she wanted to be!

Little Miss had her hair in big twists the day before and we liked how smooth, but full her hair was after, so we just left it. We added a little row of pony braids at the top to hold her bangs back and then pulled all the hair into a low side ponytail.
She wore her Hogwarts cape, but chose to skip the hat because her hair was so "perfect".

This 'do could of course be pulled off by Muggles as well. :)

Who would your child choose for favorite book character?

Zigzag Pony Braids Into Twist Braid

Still hot out, so we are keeping the hair up. This style is easy and quick, which I love for busy days!

Straight Hair and Growing Bangs Out

First, an updated picture of all three of my little ones.
Side Note: they aren't very little anymore. And this makes me sad and happy at the same time. :/

Elsa Braid Using a Deep Waver

This post is full of pictures. We finished this style with extra time before going out, so we took the opportunity to get some updated photos. :)

Miss Sass, like many other children her age, is absolutely in love with Frozen! And while she says that she looks like Anna, she likes Elsa more. My girl doesn't have super-long hair (though we are working on growing it out) and it is still baby fine. She has thick hair, just very soft and fine. In any case, this means she doesn't have a lot of volume and this style requires a LOT of volume!

2nd Day Do ~ French Braid Waves

Yesterday, Little Miss had double dutch braids. (Dorothy braids, as my hubs calls them.) We left them in over night and had very little to do this morning!
--Still spirit week. This is for favorite team day.--

Blake Lively Braids and Curls

Speaking strictly about hair here... Blake's is amazing! I think this style works for many ages and I love that it is soft and can be casual or dressy!

Let's Go 5th Graders, Let's Go!

Miss Sass and several other students got the opportunity to cheer on the 5th graders in a recent pep assembly. The 5th graders are preparing to tackle State Assessments and these kids are helping them stay encouraged!

Rock Star Birthday and A Fauxhawk

My niece had her Rock Star Birthday Party last week, so I took the opportunity to do a faux hawk in Miss Sass's hair. (I love faux hawks!)

Ponies to Braid to Bun

Okay, so here is another really simple 'do. Honestly, I've been on a simple 'do kick because that's what I have time for before school. ;) So, this is just a pony at the front which I pulled at the front slightly to make a bump. Then there are two long sections on one side which I put pull-through knots into. I took all three pieces and made a braid. Then pulled them into a messy bun. Her hair is still a little short and some fell out before she came home from school. I will do this one again and will put the bun in the middle.
And we had a happy princess... that's the important part! ;)

Summer Wedding

I made this headpiece and accent band set while trying out a new style of hair accessories for my shop and Little Miss fell in love! ;) She asked if she could wear them and of course I said yes!
So, this style is actualy very pretty and wonderful for weddings or really any event. You can dress it up or down. It is also pretty easy to achieve... that's my favorite part! ;)

Twist into Messy Bun

This is kind of a fallback style for us. First, part the hair into the sections you will want.
This is the easiest way to secure the twists. Take your section and part out just a tiny piece at the end you'll be securing.
Twist the remaining part of the section and secure it with that little piece with an elastic.

You could also secure the twists with a single bobby pin pushed up through the twist and into the base of the hair. That will work best with hair of Little Miss's thickness or thicker. Okay, so this is the finished style. I didn't get many pics, but I'm sure I'll be doing it again. ;)

Cornrow Piggies

The idea here is simple, but the time it takes is not so simple! ;) Make sure you and your little princess are comfy and have plenty of little activities to do.

Twists and Clips

Okay, so blogger has changed their photo uploader... They ran a beta test of it a while back and I liked. However, I have been trying for the last three days now to create this post and the uploader keeps rotating my pictures! I tried using a separate editing software and starting from scratch then re-uploading, no go. UGH!!!! Well, I guess I just have to deal with it. :)

Moving on....
This was Little Miss's idea. She asked me to use her new clips I got on a cruise. They are something you could find about anywhere, but they came with a cute set and she thinks they are really special. ;) She asked me to put twists in and showed me all the places she wanted them. I adjusted her concept a tad, but mainly used what she asked for. ;)
