We've had several really hot days this week, so we've been going for off-the-neck styles. I love this one because it is simple and out of her face, but also pretty.
I'm so glad Miss Sass decided to keep growing her hair out. I love it!
With ponytails and braids, I prefer to dampen the hair slightly. It seems to come together better.
Start with a small section at the top and then pull all of the hair into a ponytail.
Next is an uneven braid. (There are actually two styles in this post, but we changed our minds after the first...)
You want to have one section that is fairly thick and the other two sections small. Then just braid as normal.
This just gives a different look and breaks up the everyday braid. You can of course leave it like this, but Miss Sass asked for a bun. So, I undid most of it and started again. :)
I added the same uneven braid, but did it in the small section at the top.
After adding that braid to the rest of the hair, braid all of the hair into three regular braids and secure the ends.
Flatten or "stretch" these braids by pulling on just the edges of each little plait. You can see in the next picture that the middle braid is quite a bit fuller after doing this.
After they are all stretched, wrap them around the ponytail and pin in place. Add hairspray to finish and you're done!
Great for church, school, play, even dance or gymnastics!
Oh, and do you ever wonder if my girl enjoys this stuff? :P
